Bennington Quiltfest
At the first Quilt Show, which was held at the Ramada Inn in Bennington, 76 quilts were displayed, and nine vendors sold quilting-related supplies. The show was such a success that it has become an annual event.
Quilt Show dates are chosen to coincide with Bennington's Antique Car Show, which is held on the second weekend after Labor Day. In 1995, the show was moved to Mount Anthony Union High School, a larger venue offering more room for quilt exhibits, vendors, classes, and lectures.
With over 200 quilted items on display, 19 vendor spaces, a consignment shop, a featured quilter and lecturer, demonstrations, vintage quilts exhibits, and the spectacular raffle quilt, Bennington Quiltfest has grown into one of the area's most popular events. The show gives the public the opportunity to view quilts ranging from the homespun, traditional variety we grew up with to fascinating contemporary works of art.

Sunday morning worship services begin at 10am for the whole church family. Children ages 3 years through 5th grade are invited to Godly Play and middle and high school students are invited to their class after A Time for the Child in All of Us. Nursery care is provided Sunday for children up to age 3. Adult education opportunities take place at 11:35 after our Sunday Social. Middle School Youth Group meets every other Sunday evening. High School Youth Group activities available. We welcome all people of faith, or in search of faith, without regard to age, race, sex, econimic condition, disability, or sexual orientation. Our building is wheel-chair accessible. Rev. Mary H. Lee-Clark is the pastor. 442-2559.

Every Sunday 5:00-6pm we offer a free community supper particularly for the folks who, during weekdays, go to Harvest Christian Ministries. Various groups from Second Congregational and other faith communities take turns preparing and serving the supper.
